Statement from E2 Federal Advocacy Director Sandra Purohit

WASHINGTON (November 21, 2019) – Rep. Donald McEachin (D-VA) with more than 150 House Representatives cosponsors today introduced the “100% Clean Economy Act of 2019,” a bill that would authorize new federal requirements aimed at ensuring the U.S. reaches a 100 percent clean economy by 2050.

The following is a statement from Sandra Purohit, federal advocacy director for the national, nonpartisan business group E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs):

“Members of Congress are realizing what states and cities and Americans all across our country already know: That getting 100 percent of our energy from clean sources is not only achievable and necessary to combat climate change, but good for our economy and job creation.

“All lawmakers should work to pass this important goal and get to work on pushing solutions that will get us there.”
