The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced a $300 million investment to advance climate-smart agriculture research.  The investment—made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act—comes as E2 business leaders are set to meet with 25 members of Congress next week, primarily those in the House Committee on Agriculture and the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee.

Nicole Lederer, founder of the national, nonpartisan business group E2 said:

“This is exactly the investment in advanced research that farmers need now.  It will spur innovations in agricultural technology and cultivation practices to ensure farmers reap the financial benefits of climate-smart agricultural practices —from greater crop resilience to decreased input costs, and more—while also leveraging America’s farms as a potent climate solution.”
