• 1 Hotels Fellowship at E2 launches second year of initiative to support emerging leaders who want to advance federal and state clean energy policies

  • Winning applicants to receive $20,000 grants, mentoring from seasoned executives and entrepreneurs

WASHINGTON, DC (May 3, 2018) – 1 Hotels and the national, nonpartisan business group E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs) announced today that applications for the 2018-2019 1 Hotels Fellowship at E2 are now being accepted through July 9, 2018. The unique fellowship is designed to support and develop projects lead by early and mid-career entrepreneurs and emerging business leaders aiming to advance clean energy policy and advocacy across the United States.

“We started this opportunity to help America’s future leaders get a head-start on their visions of how a strong economy goes hand in hand with a clean environment,” said E2 Director of Membership and State Engagement, Gail Parson. “Our winners last year impressed us with their diversity and breadth of ideas, and I, for one, cannot wait to see what the next class has in store.”

The program will award 10 fellows with $20,000 each along with guidance and support from seasoned executives to complete projects strategic to the goal of advancing policies that are good for the environment and good for the economy. Winners are also awarded membership into E2’s Emerging Leaders program and will be connected to their local E2 chapter to have access of all the benefits of E2 membership.

The inaugural group of E2 fellows includes early-career professionals from six states in who developed and are executing programs to:

  • Create a state-based clean energy leaders group;
  • Develop an online marketplace for commercial energy efficiency;
  • Create an online story bank that connects the dots between federal clean energy programs and growing business opportunities; and
  • Identify ways businesses can help cities meet their renewable energy commitments.
