WASHINGTON (March 24, 2017) – The Trump Administration today issued a permit authorizing construction of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, a first step in the Administration’s effort to construct the pipeline through America’s heartland. The following is a statement by Bob Keefe, executive director of the national, nonpartisan business group Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2):

“Permitting the Keystone XL pipeline takes America in the wrong direction. It simply makes no business sense to build a pipeline for a Canadian company that will ultimately employ 35 people, while ignoring the 3 million clean energy jobs in the U.S. today. These workers are now left worrying about their future because of the Trump Administration’s love of dirty fuels, and disregard for our environment.”
