WASHINGTON – The Biden administration today issued a proposed rule expanding tax credits that have historically boosted solar and wind energy projects to cover a wider range of clean energy technologies, including hydropower, geothermal and certain types of waste energy recovery.

The following is a statement from Sandra Purohit, federal advocacy director at E2:

“This technology neutral credit will be a boon for our climate and our economy; it will continue to lower energy costs for Americans, curb emissions fueling climate disasters just like the current credits have but it will also drive innovation by helping burgeoning clean technologies attract more investment and skilled workers”
