Statement from E2 Federal Advocacy Director Sandra Purohit

WASHINGTON (January 9, 2020) – E2 opposes President Trump’s dramatic proposed rollback of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) announced today that would enable agencies to ignore the climate change impacts of new projects funded or approved by the federal government.

The following is a statement from Sandra Purohit, federal advocacy director for the national, nonpartisan business group E2:

“E2 joins responsible business voices across the country in condemning the Administration’s reckless rollback today. Ignoring cumulative impacts of federal decisions, as this regulation proposes, means ignoring climate change impacts.

“We urge the administration to consider reports like our Clean Jobs America annual report that prove America can grow its economy while safeguarding the environment and to reconsider these extreme rollbacks that invite unwarranted confusion and controversy into government decision making and project approval.”
