Dave Petri is a highly regarded marketing and sustainability professional in the outdoor industry with 30 years of proven leadership experience in directing diverse and creative cross-functional teams to achieve success. Currently Dave is the founder and principal consultant at Cynosura Consulting – a marketing consulting firm committed to guiding clients in creating authentic branding strategies with an emphasis on sustainability and transparency. In addition, Dave serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Outdoor Recreation Coalition. B

Before starting Cynosura, Dave was the Vice President of Marketing at Nester Hosiery. In that role, he guided the development and growth of their new sock brand – Farm to Feet. Within five years, the brand established itself as a premium outdoor product, growing from being unknown to a top five selling hiking sock in the outdoor specialty retail market. Prior to joining the outdoor industry, Dave’s unique background included a career in the Navy and experience in the defense and power generation industries.

An active outdoorist with a personal passion for outdoor recreation advocacy and public lands protection, Dave lives in Mount Airy, North Carolina with his wife, Dr. Lisa Petri. He has two daughters – Marissa and Laurel.
