Agricultural Carbon Offset Toolkit

Project Description

This project will create an agricultural carbon offset toolkit to help farmers and ranchers implement sustainable practices and sell carbon offsets from those practices in existing carbon markets.

Project Goals

I hope that this project will help to more farmers and ranchers adopt greenhouse gas emissions reducing practices. This project aims to demonstrate the economic benefits and clearly layout the process for agricultural producers to certify and sell carbon offsets in “cap-and-trade” markets. I believe that providing this information to farmers and ranchers will help remove some of the barriers to implementation, and drive significant improvements in the agricultural sustainability. We know that businesses want to buy these offsets, and we now that many farmers and ranchers have found cost effective methods to bring them to market, this project aims to help more producers take advantage of this market opportunity.
