Overview

Colorado is at a crossroads – emissions from transportation is about to overtake the electricity sector, even as Pruitt’s EPA wants to roll back the national clean car standards.  Yet we are poised to take action.  Governor Hickenlooper joined the Climate Alliance with other states, pledging Colorado to follow the Paris Agreement. In July 2017, the Governor issued an executive order to reduce state GHG emissions 26% by 2025, and in January, he unveiled a statewide electric vehicle plan with a focus on infrastructure investment. Denver has air quality and mobility in their 2020 Sustainability Goals.

Both the City of Denver and Colorado have come a long way in developing climate goals, but have yet to develop significant actions to achieve those goals. How can advocates, business leaders, and residents push the city and state to meet their climate goals around transportation, waste, energy and environmental justice?

Join the panel discussion to hear about specific actions at the city and state levels available to meet these goals and beyond, including shared mobility, electrification of transit, the rise of passenger EVs, and advanced clean cars standards.
