Overview

Interested in learning more about Oregon’s clean energy economy and the economic opportunities presented by the Cap & Invest program expected to be considered by the Legislature in early 2019? Want to hear about the role agriculture can play in Oregon meeting its climate goals?

Join E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs) and our local partners for this gathering of the sustainable business and agriculture communities in Lane County to hear about Oregon’s growing clean energy economy and explore the opportunities for further growth presented by Cap & Invest.

Oregon is already home to a thriving clean energy economy, with over 55,000 jobs in energy efficiency, solar, wind, and other clean energy industries across the state. As our elected officials consider how to best achieve the state’s greenhouse gas emission reduction goals for 2020 and beyond while supporting continued economic growth and job creation in Oregon, Cap & Invest has emerged as a carbon pricing mechanism with enormous economic upside.

Agriculture also has an essential role to play in mitigating climate change, and Cap & Invest offers a powerful framework for Oregon’s agriculture community to be a part of the solution. The proposed legislation provides funding, through grant funds or offset credits, for agricultural practices that will sequester carbon in the soil and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We hope to have you there with us for networking, policy discussions, and to learn about opportunities for members of the Eugene business and agriculture communities to directly engage with policymakers in this statewide conversation.

Food and drinks will be provided.

Featuring:
Senator Floyd Prozanski
Representative Paul Holvey
