Cleveland is a pretty good place to live if you are looking for work in the clean energy field.
So says E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs) in a ranking it released this week of the top 50 cities for clean energy jobs. The organization reports that those 50 metros have 1.8 million workers in such jobs — more than half of the clean energy jobs nationwide.
“Cities are seeing the benefits of shifting to clean energy, with jobs and economic growth,” said Bob Keefe, E2 executive director, in a statement. “These are good jobs in energy efficiency, construction, manufacturing, renewable energy and clean fuels and vehicles. And they shouldn’t be ignored by lawmakers as they’re considering state and federal energy policies.”
