Thank you for hosting a party for your friends and colleagues!
From August 6–September 6, hundreds of E2 members and supporters will gather in living rooms, offices, and community centers across the country to learn about the growing clean economy and economic benefits of federal climate policy. Part house/office party, part networking/educational event, these Clean Economy NOW gatherings are easy, fun ways to connect with co-workers, business associates, friends, and neighbors to learn about the clean economy — and do it in a friendly and inviting way.
Hosting a party may sound intimidating—but it’s actually pretty simple. This page covers everything you’ll need to organize a great event; if you have any questions, email [email protected] and we will help you out.
Our ‘Why’
America is at the advent of an economic revolution – and you and your community are an important part of it.
Since the passage of landmark federal policy in August 2022, companies have announced more than 300 major clean energy projects across the country. These projects will create more than 100,000+ good-paying jobs, drive $120 billion in investments – and importantly, finally give America the tools we need to reduce carbon emissions that are turbocharging climate change.
Problem is, not enough people know about the clean economy revolution that’s now just getting started. Some politicians are promising to kill these policies if they get the chance.
Your event this summer will help us spread the news that these policies keep the economy going and will take action on climate.
HOW TO PREPARE

We will hear from Bob Keefe, E2’s executive director, and answer any questions about your party.
TEST TECHNOLOGY BEFOREHAND
This is important. Be sure you can watch the video that we will share with you.
INVITE FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS
To invite folks to your party, a simple email will do the trick! You can use whatever system you feel comfortable with. We will send you a sample invite that you can modify to send. You can email your attendees about two-three weeks before the event.
REMIND YOUR GUESTS
The best way to ensure a successful party is to remind people to come. Usually the “law of halves” applies for events like this: you should only expect half of the people who sign up to actually show up. It’s not because they don’t want to, but we all lead busy lives and can’t do everything we sometimes think we can.
For Your Consideration
The best way to have a party that flows seamlessly is to think through the agenda from start to finish beforehand. Some questions to consider:
- If you live in an apartment building, will people need to be buzzed in?
- If you’re holding the party at home, which room will be most comfortable for watching and discussing the movie? Do you have enough chairs?
- If you’re holding it somewhere else, scout out the location — will it serve your needs?
- Where will you sit to lead the meeting part of the agenda so that everyone can hear you? How will you show the video?
- Will you provide snacks? Food and drinks certainly are a plus—and they make socializing with new people a little more comfortable.
- Do you want nametags?
During Your Event
Your main responsibility once people arrive is to manage the flow of the party. The video is short, so you can spend time discussing and networking. It is probably best to keep your party between 1–2 hours.
Don’t worry if this is your first time hosting a party like this. You just need to get the discussion started. Your guests are all there because they are interested in hearing more about the clean economy.
