• In September, E2 Rockies hosted our first ever Clean Jobs Colorado luncheon in Pueblo. The timing was perfect – Xcel had just announced their proposal to shut down Comanche 1 & 2 in Pueblo in the new few years, and we were able to highlight the good news of 180 clean jobs added since the last report.
  • In November, we brought the same message to Grand Junction. The luncheon was well attended, and restarted a conversation about the community’s hopes Mesa County commissioners will adopt C-PACE. We also heard about the need for additional electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. Rep. Thurlow, who welcomed our guests, told me this was a new conversation for him.
  • In December, together with support from NRDC’s Max Baumhefner, we met with three R-senators to gain support for the second attempt to pass an EV bill to support expanded EV infrastructure in the state.
  • This January, we will co-host an event with Mayor Hancock to discuss Denver’s Climate Action Plan
  • We also already have a wide range of planned advocacy for 2018, including:
    • Hosting a legislative briefing for our updated Clean Jobs Colorado report at the capitol in January
    • Continuing to advocate for the EV bill
    • Promoting PTC/ITC tax incentives with E2 Rockies members
    • Advocating for the Governor to adopt California’s Low Emission Vehicle and Zero Emission Vehicle standards
    • Advocating for the Public Utilities Commission to set higher goals for Xcel’s Demand-side Management program
    • Bringing E2’s business voice to support the federal methane rule
