WASHINGTON (November 11, 2017) – Today, the House Committee on Ways and Means voted 24 to 16 to advance tax legislation that would put clean energy and transportation businesses and workers at risk.
The following is a statement from Bob Keefe, executive director of the national, nonpartisan business group E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs):
“American businesses need confidence and simplicity when dealing with our tax code. Instead, Congress is moving forward with legislation that could seriously jeopardize growth in solar, wind, and clean vehicle jobs by putting billions in manufacturing and construction investments at risk.
“By reneging on previous bipartisan deals and retroactively raising taxes on one of America’s fastest growing industries, this proposal pulls the rug out from under the clean energy industry and introduces dangerous uncertainty into a booming market.”
