In August, we launched the inaugural edition of the Eastern States newsletter. You can read about how E2 has successfully been raising business voices like yours in our two top-tier targeted states of Virginia and Pennsylvania.

In July, E2 held a roundtable titled “The Next Deployment: Clean Energy” which focused on the growing job opportunities in clean energy for veterans. A great recap of the event can be found here

One of the speakers on our roundtable was Joe Sanchez, a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army. Along with his business partner, Dr. Mary Haberl, they co-own SolarFour LLC, a solar installation company in Leesburg. They co-authored an op-ed in the Loudoun Times on how clean energy would bring job opportunities to Virginia.

In 2015, Virginia cracked the top 10 nationwide for clean energy and clean transportation jobs in both Q1 and Q2, ranking No. 7 and No. 8 respectively, in E2’s Clean Jobs reports.

In Pennsylvania, Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, John Quigley, served as a speaker on E2’s webinar on the Clean Power Plan. Secretary Quigley said Pennsylvania plans to submit a plan by next year and believes the Commonwealth’s targets under the EPA’s final Clean Power Plan rule is both ambitious and achievable. You can hear the Secretary’s full remarks on E2’s webinar here.
