Clean Energy Justice Toolkit

Project Description

This project will examine the long-term costs and savings of particular “clean” energy sources solar, biogas, and hydroelectric power. This examination will be a multifaceted process entailing: a comprehensive life-cycle analysis of large scale production of all of the aforementioned energy sources; a systematic literature review of studies on the health implications associated with communities located within a 5 mile radius of these production sites in addition to workers in this industry; a qualitative study via surveying community and clean energy business stakeholders perceptions of the selected renewable energy sources. The composite results of this examination and analysis will be summarized, then utilized to create a toolkit and framework to advance renewable energy sources in our economy with environmental justice implications accounted for.
