Climate & Our Economy: The Cost of Inaction is Greater than the Cost of Action

Last year, climate-related disasters caused $150 billion in damage to America’s economy. In Colorado alone, wildfires, drought, severe storms and other climate disasters cause more than $3 billion in damage on average every year, and effected large sectors of our economy, from infrastructure and property to public health and tourism.

While the risk is real and present, there are opportunities, policies and creative ideas being pursued by forward-thinking businesses, individuals, and governments. Smart clean energy and clean vehicle policies are creating jobs, driving innovation and economic growth while also helping blunt the growing economic costs of climate change.

We will discuss the most important climate bill in history “The Inflation Reduction Act,” which is now under consideration by Congress.
