The Director of Federal Advocacy with Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), Sandra Purohit spoke about why Congress should invest in clean energy in the next stimulus. She explained how E2 has called for policy solutions that are good for the economy and the environment. With the help of the next stimulus package Congress could act on these solutions.
Purohit said the United States clean energy economy is at risk because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the pandemic there were 3.4 million workers in the clean energy industry. Once the pandemic hit, 620,000 of them filed for unemployment. Purohit stressed the need for policy to put these workers back on the job and boost the industry.
