Out of the Box Thinking: New Approaches to National Energy Policy (Boston, MA)
With federal deficits looming as far as the eye can see, pricing carbon is one way to internalize the economic and societal cost of climate change while providing a revenue stream with enormous economic potential. Under the radar, economists and others of all political stripes are having a serious discussion about putting a price on carbon. Could this actually be politically feasible in the 113th Congress? Please join E2 and Resources for the Future for a discussion of novel ideas that are percolating in DC and elsewhere and attracting support from anything but the usual suspects. The event will feature remarks by Chris Arndt, former Partner at Select Equity Group and Director of E2's New York Chapter; Ray Kopp, Director of the Center for Climate and Electricity Policy at Resources for the Future; and Karen Wayland, former climate and energy policy adviser to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Legislative Director for NRDC.
Invitation will be sent in early May. E2 and RFF members, no charge; guests, $30 per person. |
